As a child, I remember putting my leotard on and going to gymnastics. I remember the tumbling, cartwheels, and of course, the legendary foam pit. I had so much fun and little did I know I was actually building strength, endurance, and teamwork skills, too.

Fast forward to two babes later…

Toddler LeotardI was thrilled to hear that the same company I went to as a kid, Kids Are Tops, was still thriving and in fact, had even more to offer the community! Although I envisioned a bunch of mats on the floor and toddlers running around, the thought of my girls jumping around had my heart in over-drive. Toddlers in tumbling?! How fun!!

Tumbling ToddlersI was so impressed when I showed up for our free trial class to see real equipment in toddler sizes!! Our instructors, Ashley and Allison, were so welcoming and helpful, we adjusted right away. In the Tumble Bunnies class, parents get to participate in the class with the toddlers, so it makes for a fantastic family activity, and I didn’t have to worry about leaving my teeny tots in a class.

My girls wore a variety of leotards to their classes (because, well… cuteness), but kids can come in anything they can move around in easily and shoes stay at the door. The classes start with a warm-up and stretches, then the instructors model each of the circuits including: the foam pit, rings, balance beams, trampoline, and more! As we have continued to attend, we’ve seen various themes each week including Fire Safety, Nursery Rhymes, and the Alphabet. This 30 minute class is the perfect length of time to keep the kids engaged and their teeny attention spans fully in tune.

fullsizerender_2I have one very outgoing and social child, who I knew would love the class, but I wasn’t sure about my other daughter because she can be really shy and attached to my leg. I couldn’t believe my eyes when they were both eager to jump on the trampoline, roll down the mats and hang on the rings. I can honestly say that this class has helped my daughter, who is so shy, come out of her shell and try things she wouldn’t necessarily do.

Foam PitKids are Tops has expanded to offer the community more than just tumbling, including birthday parties, dance, swim lessons, gymnastics and more.  I could truly go on and on about the facility and our instructors in the class, but instead, you should try it out for yourself! Kids are Tops offers a Free Trial Class so you have the opportunity to try out the class before you commit! I promise, you’ll be hooked!!
