Before you open that web browser to start shopping for the man in your life, remember that he doesn’t want another bow tie. I know, I know, it’s such a cute pattern for a man’s bow tie and it would match your Christmas Eve dress perfectly. But, doesn’t that make it another gift for you? If you are like me, you’ve spent hours this season searching for gifts for the special guy in your life only to come up short in the days leading to Christmas.

Recently, I cozied up on the couch after all my kiddos were tucked in for the night.

I flipped on my favorite Christmas episode of Frasier and started searching the web for gifts for my husband. Luckily, the majority of online stores have helpful “Gift Guides” for the guys in your life. Personalized socks, barbecue tools, grooming kits, and soap that smells like beer. Wait, what? What man is sitting around thinking to himself, “Gosh I really hope Mrs. Claus brings me a new set of tongs for my grill this year.” Now a set of thongs, that might go over pretty well.

So, put back those Papa Bear slippers. I like them too, but he doesn’t want them. Remember shopping for him before you were married: tickets to a college football game, nice cigars, and a nice dinner out! Let’s get back to those gifts. Gifts that remind your spouse how well you know them.
