Fall Fun is right around the corner! We have your guide to all things Fall here in this September edition of the Dayton Dozen for Family-Friendly Events around town.


1) Tot Shop Consignment Sale

September 18, 2021, 9 – 2pm. Held at the Kettering Recreation Center. Free to shop; Contact Brittany Kilburn at [email protected] or 937-296-3332 before September 13th for more information on reserving a vendor spot.

2) The Taste Festival Flavors with Flair

September 1, 2021, 6 – 9pm. Held at The Fraze Pavilion in Kettering. $25 for tickets in advance; $30 day of the event; $10 for children under age 10. Enjoy samples from all your favorite venues and restaurants around the Dayton area!

3) John Legend LIVE IN CONCERT

September 4, 2021, beginning at 6pm. Held at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights. Ticket prices range from $83 – $113. Information on tickets can be found here.

4) The Faerie Houses of Aullwood

July 1 – September 5, 2021, 9am – 5pm.. Held at the Aullwood Center. $10 for adult; $7 for children. Check out the six faerie houses along the walking trail and conclude the tour with a trip to the library. Prizes awarded to those who can correctly answer the fairy tale associated with each house.

5) Hawthorn Hill Tours

April 14 – November 27, 2021, 10am and 12:30pm. $14 per person; $12 for members. Information on tours and other Carillon events can be found here.

6) Puzzle of Light / The Elementals / Americana

September 27, 2021, Free event. Held at the Levitt Pavilion. Come out for an incredible night featuring this outstanding quintet making sounds of blues, folk, jazz, and African rhythms. In 1997, their first collaboration sold out 2K seats at Memorial Hall in Dayton, so this a show you do not want to miss. Ticket information and COVID updates can be found here.

7) Marathon at the Air Froce Museum

September 18, 2021, beginning at 6:30am. Watch out for traffic and delays as runners compete to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the museum. Additional information can be found here.

8) Oktoberfest

September 24 – 26, 2021, 5:00 – 11:30pm. Held at the Dayton Art Institute. Come out and support the institute’s largest fundraiser and its 50th anniversary of the first festival! Additional information can be on the website for the Dayton Convention & Visitors Bureau.

9) All About Apples Fest

September 9 -13, 2021, 11am – 6pm. Hidden Valley Orchards. Start the fall season at your favorite local orchard!

10) 25th Annual Wood Gathering

September 18 – 19, 2021, 10 – 6pm and 10 – 5pm respectively. Held at Young Jersey Dairy. Information on this anniversary event can be found here.

11) Hand Day

September 21, 2021. Kettering Health Network is taking applications to provide hand surgeries on individuals without health insurance. Fill out this form to find out if you qualify for a consult.

12) Quilts of Valor exhibit

September 6 – October 2, 2021. Held at the Vandalia Branch of the Dayton Metro Library. Over 25 quilts will be on display and attendees can vote on their favorites. Quilts are made and sent overseas to US servicemen and women who are deployed across the globe.

BONUS) Fall 2021 Bloom Event

Bloom is an event for new and expecting moms, foster moms, and adoptive moms (recommended for any mom up to toddler age!) in the Greater Dayton area. Everyone is welcome!
