May Family Fun {A Look Towards the Future}

Editor’s Note: At our time of publication for this month’s event post, we are all still surrounded by a cloak of uncertainty. Along with that uncertainty comes some anxiety, certainly, but also if you look for it… hope. In the spirit of hope, our team did some reflection and dream-planning our first family outing for when it’s safe to get back to enjoying this wonderful city of ours.

We would love to hear your Dayton dream-plans as well… please share them in the comments! Stay safe, stay well, and don’t forget to have a little fun along the way.

Leslie J. – I’m looking forward to bringing my kids to visit Kids Clubhouse in Springboro. It’s a new, locally owned indoor playground facility that opened only 3 weeks before sheltering in place began.

Rebecca H. – We can’t wait to finally take our kiddos to Great Wolf Lodge! We had planned our family trip and were set to go the week before the shutdown. Also, we miss eating at Dewey’s Pizza! Our little man says carry out just isn’t the same, because we can’t watch them ‘flip the dough’! 😉😂

Mallory S – I asked my daughter what she was most looking forward to and her response was, “The library and the coffee shop”. Almost 6 months ago, we started a little tradition of going to the library, picking out new books for her, and then going to Coffee Hub in Beavercreek. We would sit at a table and read all the new books together as she enjoyed a donut and I had coffee. Such a simple little thing but one she (and I) is missing lots! I’m also hoping that splash pads will open this summer. We LOVED visiting new to us coffee shops last summer, followed by a different splash pad.

Stephanie S. K. – Playdates at playgrounds, treats at the K&W in Springboro, leisurely shopping at Kohl’s by myself for a mommy timeout.

Amy B. – I can’t wait to plan a family trip to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. We had a visit planned for spring break, but it canceled. We can’t wait to visit our friends at The Little Gym! We can’t wait to go to the Beavercreek Pizza Dive for Monday nights family buffet. Our girls can not wait to get back to our local playgrounds!

Becky H. H. – I’m looking forward to play dates at playgrounds too. And the edible cookie dough place in Miamisburg has been on my bucket list, so I’m gonna make it a “must go” when we can.

Kary Ellen B. – I’m looking forward to restaurants reopening for in-house sitting, whether that means going to dinner with my family at Doubleday’s or going to Panera for a cup of coffee and quiet time for myself.

Cheryl H. B. – I’m looking forward to taking my littles to dine in at Bill’s donuts, then off to Stubbs Park for a day of adventures at the playground and a picnic.

Elizabeth F. – We’re looking forward to all the playdates, going to the movies again, and donuts. And truthfully, I miss grocery shopping. I miss walking down the aisle with my cart, browsing what’s on my list and maybe throwing a few extras in the cart. I’d even take my kids with me for that first grocery trip out. Haha!
