For us, March means the start of nicer weather, bright colors, longer days, and definitely more to do. Here are our top 12 fun family-friendly events around Dayton.


1. Dayton Royal Princess Ball

Get ready for a magical of fun for the whole family! Dream Parties is bringing to you a one of a kind event with all-new stage performances, dancing, stories, picture opportunities and more for some magical entertainment! Your little one will get to participate in princess games, storytime sing along, learn some ballroom dance moves and more.

2. Cartooning For Kids

Let’s get drawing! Instruction will begin with the basics of working with shapes to create your child’s original characters. Your little creative will learn to draw expressions and basic body positions, explore movement, animals, comic strips and the art of caricature.

3. Tiny VanGogh

***DMC Tip*** One adult per child is suggested.

Sensory Play – the exploration of touch, sight, sense, and smell – through art-based activities in a safe environment for babies to interact with their adult partner experiencing textures, colors, and actions that help cognitive growth. Exploration stations and a take-home project is included with every class. Dress for the mess! Tiny VanGogh classes meet once a week for 3 weeks per session.

4. Wonka Family Paint Night

***DMC Tip*** Children under 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult

It’s a family paint night with a fun, tasty twist celebrating the classic Wonka! Willy and his friends will be on the screen as we paint, play trivia and games. Snacks and beverages provided. Select a project from our large assortment – Wonka inspired projects available, too! Pottery is fired and ready for pick up in 7-10 days. Pottery will be food safe.

5. Creative Kids Corner Fridays

  • March 13, 2020 at 10:00 – 11:00 AM

This drop-off program features games, a story, and a craft all, revolving around a fun seasonal theme. Children are encouraged to wear old clothes. First Time Registrants: If you are a resident of Centerville/Washington Township, please enter Dayton as your city when creating an account. The system WILL NOT recognize you as a resident if you enter Centerville or Washington Township as your city.

6. Tales and Tails Pottery Painting: Hedgehog

***DMC Tip*** Parents of children under the age of 8 are asked to stay.

A fun Pottery Painting series for all ages! Kids enjoy a storybook featuring an animal character followed by Pottery Painting. Each child gets their own ceramic figurine of the animal featured in the book to paint however they please! Figurines will be fired and ready for pick up in one week!

7. Llama Llama Live!

Based on the book Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney. Bedtime has never been so exciting! It’s the end of the day for the Llama family. After a long day of adventures at the school and the store, Baby Llama can’t wait to put on his red pajamas. He and his friends the toys are ready to sing and dance their way to sleep…except…they need a bedtime story and a kiss goodnight and a drink of water. But, where’s Mama? This hilarious new musical based on the bestselling books by Anna Dewdney will warm every Llama and Llama Mama’s heart.

8. Gran & Me Tea Time

You and your grandchild are cordially invited to attend high tea time at the park district! High tea is traditionally served mid-afternoon to curb hunger between lunch and dinner. Come dressed in your finest tea apparel as we re-create a traditional tea time with a modern flare! We will begin our afternoon together crafting traditional hats worn at tea parties then enjoy both adult and kid-friendly versions of the snacks and drinks that make tea time so special. Pre-registration is required.

9. Family Nature Workshop: Wild Canines

***DMC Tip*** Dress for the weather this is will be outdoors

Learn all about our wild canine residents of Centerville. We will explore the life histories of the coyote, red fox, and gray fox. We will also touch on the wild canine that is no longer in Ohio — the wolf! This is a “Tools to Trek” program. First-time registrants: If you are a resident of Centerville/Washington Township, please enter Dayton as your city when creating an account. 10. Pinkalicious: Pinkamagine It!
