10 Kid-Friendly Dayton Restaurants

1

Where are all the kid-friendly restaurants in Dayton?

If you’re like us, and ever felt less-than-welcome when you and your brood walked into a restaurant then you’ve wondered too.
You know, where are the places where we won’t get the side-eye for a fussy baby? Or active toddlers? Wonder no more!

By “kid-friendly” we mean that they actually have a menu for kids and are prepared for you to bring them.
Of course, there are many more, so we’d love to hear where you love to take your kids in the comments!

1. Bagger Dave’s in Centerville

  • Can’t miss the square crayons, a train that runs around the top of the restaurant and killer milkshakes.
  • Love the $2.95 kids meals Wednesdays and Sundays and $4 happy hour (Monday – Friday 2-6PM).

2. Meadowlark in Centerville

  • Can’t miss the grilled PB&J for kids (or moms, *cough*)!
  • Love the casual atmosphere – jeans or fancier, you’ll fit right in.

3. Fifth Street BrewPub Downtown

  • Can’t miss the $1 ice cream on the kids’ menu! or “Mac n Bier Cheese” (<–see what they did there?)
  • Love summer nights on the patio!

4. ele Bistro in Miamisburg

  • Can’t miss the fried risotto appetizer or their entire brunch menu.
  • Love the gorgeous cakes and sweet treats you can snag on the way out!

DMB Tip: Sit outside on the patio if you can – the fountains and area to wiggle make it even more fun!

5. Chuy’s in Miamisburg or Beavercreek

  • Can’t miss the chips and salsa. Oh, and ask for a “sauce tour” – trust us.
  • Love the tortilla-making area – super fun for the kids to watch!

6. Pizza (We just couldn’t decide, so we chose three!)

  • Can’t miss Dewey’s at Austin Landing or near UD. They have window-watching so the kids can watch them throw the pizza!
  • Love Old Scratch Pizza near UD with it’s Mickey Mouse shaped pies for the kiddos and louder crowd (no worries about fussy babies here!)
  • Can’t miss LaRosa’s in Kettering, Centerville, or Englewood. Family night = super inexpensive all-you-can-eat spaghetti + coloring and Goldfish crackers!

7. Flavors Eatery in Lebanon

  • Can’t miss the homemade garlic sauce – they even bottle it!
  • Love the commitment to vegan and vegetarian options here with plenty for the carnivores too.

8.  Rusty Bucket near Dayton Mall or at Liberty Center

  • Can’t miss happy hour (3-6PM Monday – Friday) with half-price pizzas, apps and $5 burger.
  • Love the patio in the summer or winter – they have a fireplace!

9. Sake near Dayton Mall

  • Can’t miss the kids’ hibachi menu!
  • Love that it’s dinner and entertainment in one. The onion volcano is a must!

10.  TJ Chumps in multiple locations around town!

  • Can’t miss Wednesday all day drink specials (11AM-9PM) – Long Island anyone?
  • Love that most locations have a game room. (Hallelujah!)

Monica
Hello Lovely Dayton Mommas!! I think being a mother is the greatest achievement of my life…I am one of those crazy people who LOVES being pregnant – but will now vicariously live through everyone else’s pregnancies – as my husband (Chris) and I have decided that 2 littles are as big as our family will grow. Miles (4) and Miro (2) keep us on our toes – we like to get messy with art supplies, jump in rain puddles, have nightly dance parties, explore parks, cuddle for movies & skip in the halls at school. I work full-time as a Director of Customer Experience and manage a team of 14, in my spare time I am also getting my MBA through the University of Dayton. I look forward to sharing my thoughts, blunders, successes and failures. #parentlikenooneiswatching
